1 –Restart the computer

It is always common and the most efficient to restart the computer to get a fresh running state in terms of troubleshooting a slow computer, especially when it is freezing or even gets crashed.  In the case of computer crashed or freezing, nothing can be done but restart the OS actually. As we stated above, disc space run out is the most possible culprit for such issue. However, there can be also a possibility-virus infections. Then it goes to tip 2 below.

2-Run virus scan to make sure the computer is virus-free

Slow OS running is almost the universal symptom of virus infections. So to troubleshoot a slow computer, it is always the premiere step next to the restart to run a virus scan with AV or anti-malware. If any possible there, run your trusted AV or antimalware to make sure the computer is clean from any infections that cause the computer slow down. After all, in many cases, virus infections perform more than slow down the computer, they may also disable running virus scan or other  system  services. 3- Slim the OS
