What is Redirect?

Uninstall Redirect through control panel

Windows 8
Move mouse cursor to the bottom right corner of the screen. Click Settings on Charms bar and go to Control Panel. Select Uninstall a program and remove related programs.
Windows XP
Go to Start, navigate to Settings and click on Control Panel, navigate to Add or Remove Programs, choose Programs and Features, find related programs, and hit Remove.
Windows 7/Vista
Go to Start, navigate to Control Panel, select Uninstall a program/Programs and Features, find related programs, and click on Uninstall.

Note: The virus is so tricky that you can’t find it on the control panel. If so, skip this step and keep reading.

Repair modified hosts files and DNS settings

1 Go to Start, type C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc in the search box
2 Double-click hosts file to open it. Open with Notepad or any other text editor.

The Windows hosts file should look the same as in the image below (Windows XP). There should be only one line: localhost (Windows XP) localhost ::1 (Windows Vista/7/8).

Note: If there are more lines, remove them and save changes.
3 Check out the DNS settings
If your computer fails to access the network, please check the DNS settings according to the following guide:
Launch your Internet Explorer, click on Settings icon or Tools, hit Internet Options in the dropped-down menu, navigate to Connections tab, click on LAN settings, in the LAN settings menu, uncheck the use a proxy server as your LAN, hit OK and close the window. Then retry the browser.

Repair modified browser

First of all, choose the browser on your computer and follow the repair instructions.
Internet Explorer
1 Reset homepage
Tools> Internet Options> General > replace with a desired domain like> Click Apply to complete the operation.

2 Reset the settings
Go to Tools> Internet Options. In the Internet Options dialog box, click on the Advanced tab, then click on the Reset button.

In the Reset Internet Explorer settings section, check the Delete personal settings box, and then click on Reset button.

After Internet Explorer finishes resetting, click on Close and then click OK.

Mozilla Firefox
1 Reset homepage
Tools> Options> General> replace with a desired domain like > Click OK to complete the change.

2 Reset settings
Click the Firefox button on the top left corner, go to the Help sub-menu (on Windows XP, click the Help menu at the top of the Firefox window), and hit Troubleshooting Information.

Click on the Reset Firefox button in the upper-right corner of the Troubleshooting Information page.

Click on Reset Firefox in the confirmation window. Firefox will close and be reset. When it’s done, a window will list the information that was imported. Click Finish.
Google Chrome
1 Remove from the Startup pages of Chrome.
Click on the Chrome menu > tools>Settings> In On startup section click Set pages> mouse-over to the and click the X symbol to remove it> Add your preferred domain and set it as your homepage.

2. Remove from the homepage.
Click on Settings> In Appearance section click Change
Remove from Startup pages by clicking the X symbol, you can also choose to add a new page by entering its URL and hit OK to complete the modification.

3 Change default search provider and remove Datasrvrs redirect from the search engines list.
Click on the Chrome menu> Settings> In Search section click Manage search engines…> Choose to set another preferred one as the default search engine by clicking Make default> Remove Datasrvrs redirect from the list.
4. Remove Datasrvrs redirect associated add-ons through managing Extensions.
Click on the Chrome menu > tools> Extensions > Find and delete Datasrvrs redirect related add-ons from the list.
Note: The extension may under a different name, thus search for and delete programs that are suspicious or under similar file name.
